I’m reblogging this for two reasons:

1. It’s a good article.

2. It was written by my high school buddy Chris Kohler. He writes about video game news for wired, which is awesome.

I wasn’t never really that into video games and the only ones I would buy for my Nintendo were terrible movie-based games. (The Ghostbusters Nintendo game deserves to be on this list.)
Super Mario Bros. and the Back to the Future game mentioned in this article were literally the only games I ever beat.
BTTF was a terrible game but I really loved it for some reason. It didn’t have much in common with the movie BUT there is a stage where you deflect kisses (in the form of floating hearts) from your mother.
The most infuriating part of the game was that if you finally made it to the final DeLorean stage (which was one of the few fun stages) you had literally ONE chance to drive past the Clock Tower as it was being struck by lightning. If you didn’t hit 88 mph, the game would inform you that were stuck in 1955 forever and abruptly end.

I recorded all these (some eps have multiple tracks) for what I assumed was a DVD… in fact, they refere to it as DVD commentary alot. Ah well, the above video is episode 5 and features commentary by Sean Clements, Charlie Todd, and Zach Woods. Its really weird and not too informative, but super funny. RIP Jeff Hiller.
